We supply environmentally friendly energy to homes
HASSLACHER district heating provides around 200 households in Sachsenburg and Möllbrücke with environmentally friendly energy. District heating improves the air quality by reducing the pollutant rich household fires emissions.
As opposed to burning fossil fuels such as oil, gas or coal, there is no additional load for the environment. The carbon dioxide (CO2) released by burning biomass is revenue neutral and is absorbed again by our forests. Using district heating means that the added value remains in the country and expensive energy imports are not needed.
District heating – simple, safe and convenient
The provision of district heating is based on a central heating boiler plant and the distribution of the heat energy through a pipe network to a number of households. The storage medium is water. In a household, the hot water is transferred through a heat exchanger to a central heating system.
The mature technology means that district heating is both extremely convenient and safe. If the heat exchanger is properly installed and used, it can last for decades without any significant maintenance costs.
The correct use of district heating creates a comfortable indoor climate and therefore improves the quality of life. Further information on the use of district heating can be found in our technical guidelines.
District heating is being promoted
The State of Carinthia is currently offering excellent promotional opportunities for connecting a property to a central district heating supply network.
In Sachsenburg and Möllbrücke there are currently around 200 households connected to The HASSLACHER district heating supply with a total connected capacity of approximately 5,600 kW. The main pipe runs along the main street from the HASSLACHER Timber Centre as far as the secondary school in Möllbrücke. In the next few years the branch pipelines are intended to be extended and the urban area is to get more connections.
