18.08.08 Andreas Kogler sells Kogler Holz GmbH
HASSLACHER DRAULAND Holzindustrie GmbH takes over shares of Kogler Holz GmbH in Liebenfels.
“I have put a lot of thought into this decision“, states Andreas Kogler, General Manager and former owner of Kogler GmbH. “Instead of leading a destructive displacement contest, both companies are now acting together. This is also what is best for the firms’ employees“, Kogler explains his motives. The HASSLACHER DRAULAND Holzindustrie GmbH from Sachsenburg will fully take over the Liebenfels sawmill with its about 100 employees. “Liebenfels will become an important additional production location for us, as well as a logistic centre-point in the Carinthian region“, states Christoph Kulterer, HASSLACHER’s General Director. “We will be able to fully profit by the additional production capacity and are looking forward to use synergies in the fields of log wood logistics and transport.”
In the past, the two Carinthian firms have gone through tough competition phases. In a difficult international market, the best possible productivity is necessary in order to persist on the key market. Large, strong companies can make use of synergies in the fields of production and logistics and thus pay forest enterprises as log wood suppliers correct prices in line with the market.
Until the end of the current economic years, KOGLER Holz GmbH will be continued without major administrative or operative changes. The position of General Director will be taken by Stefan Kulterer who is also responsible for HASSLACHER’s log wood purchase. The companies’ future procedure and merging details will be developed over the next couple of months in a mutual concept together with the firms’ employees.
