On 1 October 2010, Dieter Kainz took on his role as the new CEO at HASSLACHER NORICA TIMBER. Christoph Kulterer is the new chairman of the supervisory board.



Dieter Kainz is the new CEO at HASSLACHER NORICA TIMBER 

“It gives us great pleasure that Dieter Kainz will be heading our successful team, given his experience in international management in the timber industry,” says Christoph Kulterer. As CEO, Dieter Kainz will also take over responsibility for the marketing and sales divisions at HASSLACHER NORICA TIMBER in future.

“HASSLACHER NORICA TIMBER has grown considerably over the last few years. I can bring my long-standing expertise in working with large-scale companies to the role. I am looking forward to tackling my new field of activities and consider it a big challenge to support the company group in its continued growth,” says Dieter Kainz.

In addition to the new CEO, Franz Meliessnig is responsible for the finance division and Peter Fercher for the technology division as Managing Director of HASSLACHER Holding. Stefan Kulterer heads the sawmill division and log wood purchasing as Managing Director. Christoph Kulterer, a majority shareholder and the previous CEO of the group, will be heading the newly founded supervisory board from now on.

The HASSLACHER NORICA TIMBER Group has an annual turnover of 185 million euros and as such is one of Austria’s biggest timber industry operations. Currently, some 850 employees work at 6 different sites. The company has its headquarters in Sachsenburg. In 2008, another sawmill was established in Liebenfels/Carinthia, in addition to those in Sachsenburg und Arnoldstein. In 2009, a joint venture was established with Slovenian form panel manufacturer, Lip Bohijn, and the insolvent Leitinger Holzindustrie GmbH in Preding/Styria as well as taking over the Russian Madok sawmill. This family business with over 100 years of tradition produces sawn timber, planed timber, laminated timber, double and triple beams, structured timber, pellets, palettes and bio-energy. The group’s export share stands at 75% and the most important export markets include Italy, Germany, Spain, Japan and the Levant region.
